Siemens said this morning that its Energy division has received an order for two electric generators and systems designed to supply two offshore drilling platforms with energy. No amount was specified.
Frigstad D90 platforms in question are being built by Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore. The delivery of the first unit is expected in December 2015.
These drilling platforms designed by Frigstad Engineering are intended for the ultra-deep offshore, i.e. up to 3.6 km of water to a total depth of 15 km (below the surface).
For the detail, Siemens will provide all power systems including low and medium voltage equipment for the dynamic positioning of the platform, and all electrical control systems.
